Classic Hard Hitting Nor-Easter

A strong Nor-Easter will affect the region Tuesday into Wednesday

Timing. Snow starts between  4am  and 9am  Tuesday. Heavy snow quickly follows. Snow rates of 2+  Afternoon and over night.

Map on Left.

Winter weather warning for all of New England except cape cod and the islands as snowfall could be advisory level.

Blizzard watch in an affect for areas in green this includes the cape and Islands ( this is where I am watching for Blizzard conditions not National weather service)

Areas under the darker pink color is under the winter weather warning and watch..

areas with yellow lines are coastal areas that need to watch for coastal flooding and moderate to heavy beach erosion.

map center left: snow map: areas between the red lines are areas in which can see up to around 2 feet possibly. Areas in the yellow are less due to the wetter nature of the snow and some possible mixing. The cape and islands will have a mix of snow and rain. As this is a storm that is developing and will be strong, There will be banning which will make one town maybe having lets say 12 inches with someone in the next town overseeing 24 inches of snow it depends on where the heaviest of bans forms.

Map center right.  Winds and Wind gusts. Solid colors are sustain winds. winds of 35-45mph in the red shade. Winds 20-35 in the orange.  Less than 20 in the yellow. Winds gusts will be very strong with this storm. Gusts of around 70+ possible east of the red line particularly along the coast, cape and islands.  Gusts of 60+ east of the orange line . Gusts of 50 + east of yellow line . Gusts should remain below 50 west of the yellow line.

The mix of winds and Heavy snow will make power outages likely across Eastern Massachusetts especially east of I95.  Best chance of widespread power outages will be across southeast Massachusetts as the snow will be wet and the strongest winds will likely be found here.

Driving conditions. Level 5 road conditions are possible in the area  in red. Roads could become impassible and travel is extremely discouraged. Worse conditions will be Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday night.  Any last minute driving should happen before 9am.

Even though the main storm will be Tuesday and Tuesday night an upper level low could send another round of accumulating snowfall for Wednesday.

Update when needed.
