Blizzard 2017 update

This will see Blizzard criteria met, just not where it was originally forecasted. Do not have this fool you into thinking its not a major storm.

  1. Map on the left. Warnings and advisories. Blizzard conditions likely within the red shaded area. Winter weather warning in the purple. Yellow is high wind warning and winter weather advisory. Major beach erosion is likely with moderate coastal flooding possible.
  2. map center left: storm traveling a bit further west than previously thought, Leading to the new snow map. Most uncertainty again is Boston area to I95 corridor. When or does snow change to a mix of snow, sleet and even rain.
  3.   Map center right. Winds will be a major part of this storm.  Sustained winds shaded areas, look at key.  Red line represents wind gusts of 60+. Orange 50 +, yellow 30+ east of the line. less than 30. north of the yellow line.

Road conditions. near impossible in red region especially Tuesday afternoon.  Driving not encouraged. yellow bad driving conditions but morning into early afternoon can be extremely bad. Cape cod can go from level 4 to 2 in the morning.

Snow should start between 4 and 7am.

Due to the strong winds and heavy snow. Widespread power outages are likely especially across Eastern mass, RI and CT.
