Drought Continues

If you have not notice, we are in desperate need for rain. This drought is not totally do to the lack of rain this summer. This drought started in the spring with well below normal precipitation. Winter even saw below normal Precipitation.  This drought looks to continue for a while. Despite the recent cool and cloudy days, we have had very little rainfall associated with it.  The dry pattern looks to continue as a ridge keeps control of the east and a trough forms in the Northwest.  Despite the increase in fronts coming down from Canada, typical for fall, the dry conditions will continue as the moisture will usually dry out. This could also be a very humid start for fall as the placement of high pressures could draw warm moist air from the south.   There are some signs that show this dry pattern continuing through the fall, then there are other signs that show a break in the dry pattern come late fall.  For now though expect dry conditions.

A cold front will move through today and stall some where in the southeast portion of the state. This front will eventually push the humidity out of the area. Highs will be in the 80s.  The Humidity should stick around the most in southeast areas around the front.  Cooler and less humid conditions are likely for Saturday though expect clouds to stick around. Sunday an area of low pressure will move from the great lakes Northeast allowing the cold front to move through sometime Sunday bring the chance of showers.  Highs will be in the 70s to low 80s Monday through Wednesday before another front moves through Wednesday night allowing cooler temperatures to end out the week. The cool shot will be short lived.
