Tricky

As a storm travels well to the north to trail its cold front across our region with periods of rain and wind through this evening, before ending from southwest to northeast and west to east.  Unlike yesterday when I though we would see mostly sunny skies right after this system, we will see the clouds sticking around. There is a quick moving long wave of low pressure that will be traveling along the front that passes through. The closer this front is when this low pressure forms and travels up along this front, the more snow we could possibly see. Right now I am not expecting much for the Merrimack Valley but can not rule out a light snowfall. Heaviest precipitation will likely happen over southeast Mass, cape and Islands but will be to warm to accumulate to much, So I believe a relatively even distribution of snowfall is possible. Even though this is less than 36 hours, there is still uncertainty. We will have to monitor the morning models and see the placement of a few different pieces. The weekend looks decent with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid 30s to low 40s. Next week, there are a lot of different areas of low pressures to watch. It will be active, we will see something around. Timing of the Northern Jet stream and the southern jet stream and how they interact is still pretty uncertain and  the models are showing that they are still having trouble, including the EURO weather model. There is a chance of snow falling particularly on Tuesday but there is a chance Monday through Wednesday of snow falling.  More details as we get closer.

Thursday. Mostly cloudy. Highs in the 50s.

Thursday night. Mostly cloudy chance of rain showers early then a chance of snow. Lows in the mid 20s to low 30s.

Friday. Mostly cloudy, chance of snow in the morning, becoming sunny. highs in the 30s.

Friday night through Saturday night. Mostly sunny, highs in the mid 30s to low 40s.  Lows in the 20s

Sunday and Sunday night.  Mostly sunny,Becoming partly cloudy, highs in the upper 30s to mid 40s. Lows in the mid to upper 10s.

Monday. Mostly to partly cloudy, highs in the upper 20s to low 30s.

Monday night through Wednesday. Chance of snow., Highs in the upper 20s to mid 30s. , lows in the mid to upper 20s.

Wednesday night through Thursday. Partly cloudy, chance of snow showers. Highs in the 30s., lows in the 20s.

We will have to continue to  monitor what happens next week, anything past monday is of low confidence. . I will say the best chance of a snow storm is later in the period.
