Groundhog says early spring…..???

The groundhog is saying early spring, maybe he is right. We have been seeing some spring like conditions for the past few days. Winter has been well below normal in the way of snowfall. I have heard people say that they have put away their snow shovels and emptied the gas out of their snow blowers. Go on ahead, we all know what happens when people let their guard down.

A  storm system that is giving Northern Iowa and surrounding areas Blizzard like conditions. we will be on the warm side with rain developing Wednesday late morning/early afternoon and continuing into Wednesday evening. Parts of northern new england can see a few inches of snow and sleet with higher  amounts in the elevated areas of the the white mountains and up into parts of northern Maine. Skies start to clear later Wednesday night.. Highs will be in the low 30s tonight through Tuesday night. Lows will be in the upper 30s to low 40s..  An area of high pressure will then retake control of the regions weather through Saturday.  A weak low pressure travels along the cold front well out to sea and will give a chance of scattered rain and snow showers Thursday night  We will have to continue to monitor how a series of low pressure system interact with one another. The jet streams are having a hard time interacting with each other and the timing of different areas of low pressure will greatly determine what happens from the 8 to 10 time frame which is still 5 days out. We can see two separate storm systems, or one big one, or nothing at all. At the moment  I think we get at least something particularly the 9th. next week.
