Old man winter is about to wake New England up.

Surprise! As I stated about 4 days ago, I thought something sneaky was going to happen. Well it is happening tonight through tomorrow. An area of energy along the cold front that moved through last night will form an area of low pressure that has trended further west and north.. I said yesterday and all week we will have a much better understanding on what happens past this last Wednesday when the storm moved on out, well, we now have a much clearer view of what is happening tomorrow. . Precipitation will move in from the south and southeast later tonight. Starting as rain but changing to snow from northwest to southeast. The timing of this is still a little uncertain and will determine who will see the highest amounts. I believe the rain will be brief in interior northeast Massachusetts. but will take a while to reach cape cod and the islands. So even though the southeast will see more amount of water from this storm, they will see as much or less than northeast mas. You will see a sharp cut off as you get further south and a relatively sharp cut off on the northern edge.

In the 4 to 8 inch range. Expect it to be in this range but there could be some locally higher amounts .

2- 4 region to the north. relatively sharp cut off. could see more or less.  Depending on several factors.

the 0-2 to the north. sharp cut off, lighter snow.

2-4 inch range to the south, expect it to change to rain later which in turns makes it harder for the snow to stick.

0-2. expect the rain to change to snow the latest or not at all. It will be a relatively warm ground so makes it even harder for accumulation, especially with marginal temperatures and weakening precipitation  by the time it changes over.

Road conditions will be tricky, especially as I have a feeling many will be going to work and school.

In the orange area, expect moderate to heavy delays and poor travel. Especially from 7am to 11am.

There is a potential for an other storm for early to mid next week.
