Flakes sunday, rain the night of christmas eve.

As been advertised as of late, there will be some snow across southeast sections of the merrimack valley.

The mix of a northerly cold air flow with a warmer east wind at the coast will create a boundry( ocean front) as many like to call it. Along this front the heavier precip will happen. Else where periods of light snow with minor snow accumulations.

Areas east of i95 can see up to 2 inches. areas west will see up to one inch, if heavier snow showers form and move inland.

the chance of snow showers will start saturday night and last through sunday. When this is happening parts of the northern parts of the valley could see partly sunny skies. Temps will be cool with highs in the low to mid 30s.

Then monday will be a bit warmer with highs in the mid to upper 30s with cloudy skies with areas of fog.

monday night there can be a chance of rain and snow showers late.

Tuesday and tuesday night there can be a chance of rain showers, this is a relativly weak system

A more power full system will likly move through the great lakes, We will have to watch an area of low pressure form and travel up the cold front. As of right now it looks like rain will likly start late wednesday afternoon and last through chrismtas eve night. Depending if enough cold air is wrapped into the system as it heads out and how quickly the cold air moves in we could see rain to some mix pre dawn hours of christmas day for some locations in the merrimack valley.

For now christmas looks,  partly sunny with a chance of rain and snow showers in the morning

Another system could give a few rain showers on the 27th.

an active weather pattern should continue but we could see a turn to a colder version of the active weather pattern come January.

Forecast for the merrimack valley will come tomorrow.
