Clouds and lots of them

An active weather pattern is in store for the region through the up coming 7 days.  There can be a mix bag of warm and wet to cool and dry to mix.

Friday and saturday will be cool with highs in the low to mid 30s much more common around these parts for this time of year as an area of high pressure moves to the north and northeast of the area.

First event. sunday and sunday night. chance of rain, sleet and snow showers. Minor accumulations are possible better chance  southeast areas of the merrimack valley. This will not be associated with the very weak area of low pressure that will be going off the south carolina coast that system will be going out to sea. It probably be more of just a cloudy day.

A series of disturbances will take shots at southern new england monday and tuesday, but the one on monday looks to just be clouds as it will be way to weak and to far out to sea to effect us. Another system could throw some rain and snow showers to the area monday night and tuesday.

A major storm is possible to effect the region and could give people in the plains up into canada a christmas eve/ christmas day blizzard if everything works out correctly, but this would not be for us as this is way to far west

Two possible outcomes with this storm for us .

1. Storm travels far enough west that christmas eve is spared from heavy rain, wind and tidal concerns. Instead though We get a powerful cold front that moves through the region christmas even night into christmas with a chance of rain and snow showers. (squals) With temperatures dropping from the low to mid 40s all the way down into the 20s to low 30s  by mid to late afternoon.

Second possible outcome.  storm tracks west of the region but we get a good amount of rain as we are on the east side of the storm system.

third possible outcome storm tracks well west but secondary low forms and travels the cold front.

both the second and third possibilites could see it ending in a mix of rain and snow depending of timing.

Time will tell and the middle of the week is very up in the air as of right now. Do not count on anything right now. Also the cooler air might not be so cool and if it is does not look to stay long

forecast

christmas eve night mostly cloudy periods of rain with snow possibly  mixing in late Lows in the 30s

christmas day.  becoming partly sunny, Highs in the upper 30s, temps dropping through the morning and afternoon. chance of rain and snow early as cold front pushes through

I am currently mixing several models into my christmas eve and christmas day forecasts, this is very, very low confidence as of right now, So just know that there is a possible storm around that time area instead of dealing with the streangth and how we will be effected by it.

Will keep you updated.
