winter storm Ice?

It is turning out to be more of a sleet and Ice situation the closer we get to the storm. Precipitation should start out as snow after midnight tonight. The snow will change to rain across southeastern sections of Mass, most of RI and southern CT.

Others will change from snow to sleet and/or freezing rain. The change over will happen from southwest to northeast. Northeast mass could see the highest amount of snow as the change over will occur there the latest, which might keep ice and sleet accumulation down as the heaviest of precipitation should be over by around noon . Once the precipitation becomes lighter Most in southern new England should change to plain rain.   There could be more Icing tonight due to light freezing rain/freezing drizzle

road conditions

road conditions along the i95 corridor up to Boston points east will see areas of level 2 road conditions, expect minor delays and some slick spots predawn hours, travel conditions should quickly rebound and only minor delays should occur

In the yellow regions north of the i95 corridor expect level 3 road conditions, this is not due to snow accumulation as snow accumulation is not expected to exceed 3 inches but due to accumulating sleet of up to 1 inch.

In the Orange shade expect level 4 conditions in central and northern Maine. Northern New Hampshire is due to the higher amount of snowfall. In Massachusetts southern Vermont and southern New Hampshire it is due to the mix of snow, sleet and Ice accumulation but mainly due to Ice and sleet

Red shaded area around I91 could see areas of level 5 road conditions, severe road conditions mainly due to the Ice.
