First storm becoming more and more possible

After a record setting day with high temperatures for Christmas eve. Rudolph will be needing to lead tonight as areas of fog will form.  We will see temperatures a bit lower with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s for Christmas still well above average. We will see temperatures heading into the mid 40s to low 50s Saturday after some cooler air moves in from the northwest. An area of low pressure will form and give the region periods of rain Saturday night ending early Sunday morning.  This low pressure will drag cooler air down to allow temperatures to be in the 30s for highs on Monday.

Merrimack valley weather has issued a winter weather precaution for late Monday night through Tuesday night. Please look on the warning and watch page. The icon is on the top of the page.

An area of low pressure traveling up the Ohio valley to great lakes, will transfer to an area of low pressure off the coast. The timing of the transfer will be a major factor in precipitation type and amount. More details as we get closer but it looks to effect the region late Monday night through Tuesday evening. The increasing chance of a moderate winter weather event has increased to the precautionary level. The areas shaded in yellow have a chance of seeing a moderate snow event within the time of Monday night through Tuesday night
