A clipper system is moving acros the area today this will reform well off shore but will give some locations . Parts of northwest parts could see times of sunshine. Highs will be in the upper 10s to low 20s today. Friday will be the calm in between with partly to mostly sunny skies but will be windy and will be cold. highs will struggle in the low 10s. wind chills will be below zero for most of the day. Friday night. Lows will be around -10 degrees. Wind chills will be about 10 to 15 degrees colder.
Another storm looks to hit the region saturday late afternoon through sunday, I will be posting some maps later today on this storm, At this time I would say a Heavy snowfall is likely across eastern new england. This will be a very dry snow, so any wind will just pick this snow up. This very cold air could also make it harder for the snow to fall so it might look like it is snowing on radar but nothing is hitting the ground for a bit due to the dryness of the air.
Winds, I want to look at some new data that will be coming in shortly, There is a chance of very strong winds with this system especially in southeastern new england.
Again any wind will likely make for alot of blowing and drifting of snow so the mix of this and falling snow will lead to near white out conditions even without that strong of a wind.
After this system. a very cold air mass will filter in with highs not getting out of the single digits on washington’s birthday(monday) though the sun will be out. Lows will be 0 to 10 below. Another storm looks to hit us again mid week.
