Don’t shoot the messenger

This storm that started to give us snow saturday night still has its grip on us through this evening. Snow should taper off between midnight tonight to 3am.

You can look at this map and it shows a broad area of 3-6 inches. This system has proven difficult as there was a lot of banding. This has created a large difference in snowfall from one town to the next. This will continue to be the case. so you could see the lower end of those amounts and then one town over see the heavier side of the amounts. There could also be a few areas that see up to 8 inches of additional snowfall, this wil mainly be confined to areas east of i95.

storm9.1

Remember what the tittle of the blog says. Don’t shoot the messenger. There is another storm system that could hit the area thursday night and friday. This storm will not be such a long duration storm.

There is still some uncertainty on this system, timing is a big question.

storm 10.1

On the left is a 3 day out snow map using the 1-5 snowfall scale (thursday-friday), Please go to scales on the top of the page to know more about this. A general heavy snowfall is looking likely around southern and eastern new england. with lighter amounts in northern new england. heaviest is expected across eastern new england in purple.

On the right shows you where there could be wind issues, Unlike the storm currently hitting us, there will likely be strong winds and coastal concerns, There will likely be changes but this is my early thoughts on this system. Please,  I can not stress this enough, please clear off the roofs, If there are any tree’s around get as much of the snow off of them as well, between tomorrow through early thursday As roof collapses and power outages will be on the increase.

After this system very cold air could filter in.
