Seasonal and dry through saturday.

A giant area of high pressure will maintain control of the region through the week. Skies will be partly to mostly sunny with highs in the upper 20s to low 30s. Lows will be in the 10s to low 20s. This is nice winter weather will lead to great snow making condtions for ski areas and those who have snow guns.  Southern new england ski areas will take it.

This sunny stretch of weather is happening as the southwest USA have winter storm warnings and advisories which has not happen for a while.

Back to our weather, LOW TO MODERATE CONFIDENCE  We will be watching a storm system develope in the gulf states. This low will likely track through the great lakes which is usually a warm solution but we have to watch for the interaction of the cold air currently in place, the interaction with the polar jet ,exact track of this system and the possible development of a secondary low pressure system forming off the coast some where this is unlikely but still possible. If this system can get its act together northern new england can stay as all snow. As of right now most of the precipitation will fall saturday night into early sunday. It would mean a change over to rain for many but it will happen when the precip is light as the heaviest will be north of the center. We could also see a period of sleet and freezing rain as warm air over takes the cold.

After this storm system even colder air can filter in with highs stuck in the upper 10s to mid 20s.

Winter weather precaution has been issued for snow, sleet, freezing rain and rain for saturday night through sunday for All of vermont, central new hampshire , northern New Hampshire,  northern maine and western maine. This does not currently cover areas in the merrimack valley as there is still not enough confidence of accumulating snow, sleet or freezing rain in  the area.  Please stay tuned as more maps will be issued throughout the week
