First snow event of the season.

The first snow event of the season for many will be effecting the region this weekend and could be the start of a series of systems. Some of the coldest temperatures we have seen in December for some time will also be with us. Today we will see more clouds than sun as the area of low pressure moves in from the south.  Highs will be in the 30s throughout the week but temperatures could struggle to hit the freezing mark especially the second half of the week with temperatures in the upper 20s to low 30s.

Storm: Low pressure moves north into the region spreading snow across most of the region through morning and early afternoon. Heaviest of the snow will happen in the afternoon and evening. ending Sunday night. Clearing on Sunday.

Snowfall:

Along the coast warm ocean water will limit snowfall. Inland though, a marginal moderate snowfall is likely with 3-6 inches Northern CT, Northern RI, Most of interior Massachusetts up into southeast NH and Central Maine. Jackpot area will be area east of I95 in Maine.

Snow will end from southwest to Northeast early Sunday morning probably before people wake up in the morning. But scattered snow showers could effect the region throughout the morning and afternoon.

Monday will be a break with an other possible system effecting the region Tuesday into Wednesday.  But one storm at a time, more details of this system Sunday.
