Severe weather ahead of a great 6 day Summer Stretch

A cold front is moving in from the west. Ahead of this front today we will see more clouds than sun through the afternoon. There will be a chance of an isolated shower and Thunderstorm this afternoon. What needs to be watched is a possible set of strong to severe thunderstorms this evening. We have very strong severe weather parameters for this evening despite us being past day time heating.  The best chance of severe weather will be the further west you go.  Strong winds, Hail, cloud to ground lightning with isolated tornado’s not being ruled out western half of the state.   Time frame of 5pm to 9pm western half and 8 pm to midnight Eastern half of New England. Do not cancel outdoor plans today, Most activity will be happening in the evening and even then, just look at the skies, you should not cancel any plans.

After tonight, an area of high pressure will take control and will keep any unsettled weather at bay well to the south and well to the north. We will experience yet another great summer week. We will see upper 70s to low 80s Saturday and Sunday as the area of high pressure will be positioned to our west putting us on the cooler side. The area of high pressure will start to shuffle into a position that allows a southwest to west flow allowing warmer temperatures to move in with highs in the mid to upper 80s through the end of the week.
