spring.. where? Dodged a blockbuster

Tonight a Major nor-Easter will move well out to sea. Still Snow will affect the southeast portion of the state.  A few snow showers or period of light snow can not be ruled out southeast locations of the merrimack valley. No more than 1 inch of snow is expected. There will be alot of wind. Areas that do not have snow could have power outages just because of the streangth of 40 miles per hour winds + hurricane force wind gusts could affect the cape and islands. Waves off the cape could be 25 to 50 feet…. Does this sound familiar to anyone….. Please anyone that has maritime interests should not go out. HINT HINT!…. If this storm was to give us a direct hit it would of been an epic storm.

Now after this storm thursday will actually be the last day with highs in the 30s for a while…… but what we make up in temperature increase we make up in the unsettled dreary weather that arrives friday. temperatures will range in the mid 40 northwest to low 50s southeast.. It will remain mostly cloudy through the weekend with periodic showers along with fog and drizzle…. partly sunny skies will return for the beginning of next week with highs in the low to mid 50s

Spring out look…. cool weather will continue through late April.. along with it negative Nao which we have been lacking all winter … Negative Nao means there is a blocking pattern in the east. which slows storms down greatly and can make weather systems to move really slow.  IN the winter usually causes big nor easters to form off our coasts. In the spring It can make the area cool and wet… In my mind negative nao is great in the winter, but terrible any other time of the year… Though this winter has shown that we do not nessesarily need a negative nao to have a normal snowfall to above snowfall. In my mind i just wonder what would have happend if we did have the negative nao this winter how big the storms we had could have been.

Hope everyone is happy with the forecast
