when its dry its cold when a storm comes it warms.

 

Today will be mostly sunny and chilly with highs in the lower 30s. tonight clouds will be on the increase a storm system starts to heads toward the region from the south. This storm will likly track over Ny state. This set up allows warm air to flow up from the south and give most of new england a rain storm as we will be on the east side of the system. We can also expect very windy conditions but unlike the recent wind events of the weekend it will be a warm and humid wind from the south and southwest. current indictions are hinting at a good soaking of much needed rain. I think the precipitation amounts are a little over done.  I am thinking less than 2 inches of rain will fall. Precipitation will likly start out as rain for most but the higher elevations of western half of massachusetts up into southern vermont and southern new hampshire could see it start out as a mix . Ski country will likly change over to rain as well. Vermont will be the best chance for accumulating snowfall.)  There is also a possibility that the rain ends as a mix of rain and snow at the tail end of the storm as cold air comes in after the storm. This will also lead to any standing water to freeze late wednesday night. After this storm temperatures  generally look to be  in the 30s
